Urban revitalization project of an abandoned historic center in the city of Thiers.

 

Program : rehabilitation of a dance conservatory, création of workshops and Pop-Up stores, housing, café, coworking, development of a lookout and a flower-filled courtyard. This program was chosen thanks to a process of reflection on the revitalization of an old town center, providing a functional and programmatic mix.

 

The project comes to reform a coherent urban whole, thanks in particular to a Corten steel courtyard which structures the space and fits slightly between the church and the existing building, while recalling the industrial past of the city which is the international capital of cutlery.
